Government Increases Petrol and Diesel Prices for Next 15 Days

The government has announced that petrol and diesel prices have increased for the next 15 days. This decision comes as a response to rising international oil prices and aims to adjust local fuel rates accordingly. The new prices took effect from midnight today and will remain in force until the next review.

According to the Ministry of Finance, petrol prices have been increased by 2.43 rupees per liter. With this increase, the new price of petrol is now 265.45 rupees per liter across the country.

Similarly, high-speed diesel prices have been raised by 3.02 rupees per liter. Following this change, the price of diesel is now 278.44 rupees per liter.

Officials explained that the price adjustments are based on fluctuations in the global oil market. The government is trying to ensure that the impact on consumers remains minimal while keeping the fuel sector stable.

The petrol and diesel prices have increased will be reviewed again after 15 days, depending on market conditions. These new rates are already in effect and will guide fuel costs for the immediate future.
